Our annual Summer Skills Series is a summer-long program that introduces a variety of recreational activities to our local youth (ages vary by activity). Each event will teach beginner-level skills that include safety, equipment, and activity engagement.

June 13: Passport to Fishing | Ages 6-17 (12p-2p) - Aldersgate Park Gazebo
This program provides the skills, techniques, and information to allow beginner anglers to start fishing. Participants will go through different information stations and will also receive a free fishing pole upon completion of the program.

July 25: Passport to Kayaking* - 3 One Hour Sessions | Ages 8-17 (10a-1p) - Aldersgate Park Gazebo

This program will introduce the fundamentals of kayaking. Participants will learn proper paddling and stroke techniques, and will get the chance to practice these new skills in the water. Participants will also learn the basics of water safety, and how to have an enjoyable time out on open water.
*The kayaks being used this this program our adult-sized; parents will not be allowed to join their child in the kayak. Please keep the size and capabilities of your child in mind when signing up for this program.*

August 8: Passport to Archery* | Ages 10-17 - 2 One Hour Sessions (10a-12p) - Reservoir Open Field
In this program, trained instructors will cover the basics of proper archery form and how to have fun safely. The fundamentals of archery will be covered from shot cycle to gears and bows. Participants will be able to handle real archery gear, and have the opportunity to practice their new skills at a mobile archery range.
*Participants must be 10 and older for this program. Please do not sign your child up for this program if under the age restriction*
